The Bhagavad Gita, often referred to simply as the Gita, is a 700-verse Hindu scripture in Sanskrit that is a part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Set within a narrative framework of a dialogue between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide and charioteer Lord Krishna, the Gita delves into the duty of a warrior to fight the Dharma Yudhha, a righteous war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas. Arjuna is counseled by Lord Krishna to fulfill his Kshatriya (warrior) duty and establish Dharma.

The Bhagavad Gita was presented to the world by Sanjaya, who keenly perceives all events of the battlefield. Sanjaya serves as Dhritarashtra's advisor and charioteer.
